Alles war top organisiert, der Fahrer und unsere Guides vor Ort waren sehr nett und haben sich gut um einen gekümmert. Die Fahrt bis zum Hafen wo die Tour startet ist jedoch sehr lang und kann bis zu 12 Stunden dauern aufgrund des Verkehrs und der Wartezeiten an der Fähre. Dafür wird man jedoch mit dem unglaublichen Erlebnis belohnt mit den Walhaien schwimmen gehen zu können. Wir hatten das Glück drei gleichzeitig zu sehen und die guides haben super Fotos von uns und den Walhaien gemacht, die wir im Anschluss erhalten haben.

We travelled for a full day from Senggigi and another full day back, but it was absolutely worth it for the chance to swim with these magnificent creatures for two hours.

The guides were very responsible and respectful towards the whale sharks. Before getting into the water, they gave us a clear briefing, explaining that we should never intentionally touch the whale sharks and that we should keep a respectful distance from them. They also made sure to turn off the boat engines when we were close to the fishing nets, which showed how much they cared about the animals and their environment.

We were incredibly lucky to have a moment when five whale sharks were swimming around us at the same time! This is apparently quite unusual, as there are usually only one or two. As time went on, they came from all directions and we found ourselves completely surrounded by these beautiful animals. It was an unforgettable experience.

There were also some jellyfish in the water, but they were the harmless kind. Their tentacles were so tiny that the chance of getting stung was very small. One person in our group did get a tiny sting, but it was really nothing more than a quick little “ouch,” similar to a small insect bite.

Overall, this was an absolutely incredible experience that we will never forget. The long journey was more than worth it, and we would highly recommend it to anyone who gets the chance to swim with these amazing animals.

We were picked up at our Hotel in Senggigi from Sastra and were joined by Dyn. The drive was very long but absolutely worth it. Sastra and Dyn were amazing. And the guides on the boat were also very nice and took very great pictures and videos. Also we were the first to arrive at the whale shark spot and we were staying the longest. Definitely worth it!
